One thing that is so fun about summer is going to the LIBRARY!!! In fact, we celebrated our first day of freedom (no more "school"!!!) today. That kind of makes me laugh in that although we won't have "school" we will probably do just about as much "school", it will just be disguised :)!!
Okay, I want to keep track of the books we read this summer and what better place than this?!?!? So, this is where I will keep my running list. If you haven't read Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, you must read that book!
I'm reading her Mark of the Lion series right now, still on the first book. Kinda slow at the beginning in some parts, but once you get to know the characters it is really good. It takes place just after the time of Christ in Rome, very interesting.
Happy Reading!!!
I love The Little House! It was always one of my favorites! I love summer reading. Our library has a summer program that you attend weekly and hear stories and do a craft. And best of all....it's free!
I highly recommend anything by Karen Kingsbury! I have read EVERY STINKIN' BOOK she has ever written. Can you say obsessive? :)
I would recommend starting with the Redemption Series. Its a series within the "Baxter" series. I think there are somewhere around 14 books just in that series?

If you haven't read "Safely Home" by Randy Alcorn I'd have to say MOVE IT TO THE TOP OF THE LIST! You know I'm a huge reader....and it is #1 in my top 5 alltime favorites. I keep a book journal (I know...get a life) and rate everything on a 5 point scale and it this book is one of the few that got a "5"...should be a "10". You'll love "Same Kind of Different" too, it's fabulous! I have a whole library here if you need anything, just finished a run summer read "Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen"....laugh out loud and cry all in the same book.

I loved Amelia Bedelia & Nana Upstairs, Nana Downstairs!
What a fun post! Not boring at all. I signed the kids up for the summer reading program at the library. And now you've inspired me to do a similar post! Redeeming Love is really good! Count of Monte Cristo is one of my all time faves! I recommend Amy Krouse Rosenthal Books. Some of our favorites are Little Pea, Little Hoot, Yes Day!, and Cookies Bite-size Life Lessons. Happy Reading!
