You're the one that I want..

Go Grease Lightning, Go Grease Lightning.

I thought the billboard was cute.....
Here's the real thing. Sweet. I got my picture with DANNY! He may look familiar, he was the runner up in the series "You're the one that I want." This kid was a cutie (not near as cute as Micah John, though...for sure!)
Jill's new best "boy" friend. Yep, you might recognize him as Ace from American Idol. Man, this place is fun.

Sunny and Sonny. He was our favorite character other than Danny, of course.Stardust diner. Awesome. Some of the most fun I have had in ages. All the wait staff are young people who have come to NYC to "live the dream" and be on Broadway. They sing Broadway tunes while they deliver your food, take orders, etc. They are absolutely INCREDIBLE singers. Our waitress was just as good as any of those on stage at Greese.

Jill choreographed some fancy moves for this pic. She has actually choreographed for productions of Grease before (little piece of trivia there for you!)
Real pic of me and Jill Ann in the apartment.
Went to a church today that JD and Jill have been visiting. Small world, but we met up with Tik and Ryne who we know from our town. How crazy is that? I love Tik and Ryne and wish we could've hung out more. Maybe someday.
J.D. and Jill's subway stop

I gotta get outta here

My sis-in-law, Jill; my bro, J.D.; Me; My momma right before church
Elfie giving me a few sugars after her bath.
Mom and I in our new earmuff headbands....how cute are these? I am convincing my mom to go more trendy.
Okay, it's weird to put a pic. of me all by myself on my blog. But, you gotta admit this hat is SO New York and cute. I love it. This is a shout out to my friend, Nesli..who appreciates a good hat just like I do!
I gotta get out of here...all the shops just call my name, it's hard to say "no" to them, they are so nice to me :)

Louis...Louis...Louis...

This is what you call REE-Dic-U-Luss. Insane. So, my mom (she's crazy) works in sales. Some of the office workers for her clients knew she was coming to NYC and so they all know she comes back with great purses. Seriously, they printed off cards with pictures of knock-offs that they wanted. Many of them were texting her with their orders while we were at the airport. It's like she was a bookie.

You would not believe this place we went to down on Canal Street today. My mom knew right which shop to go to (scary) and she mentioned she has "done business" with them before. (Sounding strangely like a drug deal, I know). We got there and looked around and my mom says quietly to one of the guys working there "do you have a backroom?" and as if testing my mom, the guy replies "They have a bathroom down on the corner at the hotel." Nope, my mom was having none of it. She whispers back "No, a BACK room...you know, bags." He promptly and quietly nods at another lady in the shop and says to us "follow her." She leads us to a "Secret passage"...not kidding, it was an invisible door that just looked like the wall, down some stairs, and to the "backroom" full of Coach bags, Chanel, Dooneys, etc. It was hilarious.

So, I went to work (for those of you who know me I LOVE talking people down, making bargains, buying cars, etc.). Yep, the picture sums it up pretty well. Yes, my mom bought ALL of those purses pictured. Unfortunately, this shop didn't sell Louis Vuitton. She needed at least one "Louis." The lady said "no, I don't do business in Louis...you have to find those on the streets hidden." Okie Dokie. Sure enough as we were walking down the street as soon as the cop was out of site the "dealers" would walk by and whisper "louis....louis....louis..." Yes, I am serious. Yes, my mom did buy one from one of these guys. Yes, I did think we were going to get killed.

Pray for my mom...this is a serious problem:) Luckily, we are safely tucked away in my brothers apartment now.

Can you say New York?!?!?!

Serendipity.....Frozen Hot Chocolate. Thanks for the recommendation, Oprah.
These next few pics are SO New York. "Crumbs" is a super duper yummy cupcake store that Jill greeted us with when we arrived. Man, I love her.

So, New York....obvious reasons.

Totally Vintage...

Their apartment (upper west side-Manhattan) is SOOOOO cute. I will post more pics later.
It rained, and rained, and rained, and rained. We had cute rainboots this morning but wait until you see the ones we found and are replacing these with!

The kids are spoiled...that's it...it's true (some of this stuff is for Christmas....trying to justify the little bit of spending I did at FAO Schwarz).
Delish candy store.
Project Runway, Anyone? This was one of the best shows/best designs. This is Christian's candy design made of reeses peanut butter cup wrappers.
The kit kat dress was adorable. I would totally wear it (well, I would totally wear it if I lost about 30 pounds!)

Punkins, punkins...everywhere

Okay, so it was like 80 degrees outside today but we are SOOOO ready for fall, so we went and picked out pumpkins. I think the cutest little pumpkins are the red headed one and the silly one who won't ever look at the camera. Also, we are celebrating mommy (me!!!) going to NYC TODAY!!!! I am at the airport as I type this blog. So pumped. The kids, however, are not as excited. Creed keeps saying "why would you want to go to New York without me?" and his favorite, "Why do you always do this?" (mind you, I have never done this to him before in his whole life :)...More posts of my mom and me in the Big Apple soon.

Baby "k"'s song

Each time we are about to have a child (during pregnancy in the past, and during our wait time with this baby) we have thought of a song that we wish to pray over our child's life. After our child arrives, Micah will write a specific song just for them but this is a praise song that we have been experiencing through the waiting and that we hope will be endeared to our child.

I pretty much listen to baby "k"'s song every day. Now, I even have Creed and Rinn listening to it. They each know their song as well. Creed's is "Give me one pure and holy passion...Give me one magnificent obsession...give me one glorious ambition for my life, to know and follow hard after you, to grow as your disciple in your truth. This world is empty, pale, and poor compared to knowing you, my Lord, so lead me on and I will run after you...lead me on and I will run after you."

Rinn's is "Single minded, whole hearted, one thing I ask, that I may gaze upon your beauty, Oh Lord, that I may seek your Holy face, that I may know you in an intimate way, and follow after you all of my days. Cause' all of life comes down to just one thing and that's to know you, Oh Jesus, and make you known."

Baby "k"'s is "In the quiet, in the stillness, I know that you are God. In the secret of Your presence, there I know that I am restored. When you call, I won't refuse....each new day again, I'll choose. There is no one else for me, none but Jesus....crucified to set me free, now I live to bring Him praise. In the chaos, in confusion, I know your sovereign still. In the moment of my weakness, you give me grace to do your will. Oh, when you call I won't delay. This my song for all my days. I am Yours, You are mine. All my delight is in You, Lord. All of my hope, all of my strength. Forevermore. Forevermore."

We are still waiting (I know you blog stalkers are out there refreshing my page a million times over, so shout out to ya'....I do the same thing!!!!!) but are hoping that soon we will be able to sing our child's song to them as we hold them, kiss them, and cuddle them to sleep.

Girl Fun versus Boy Fun

KK and Rinn in the kitchen making a big breakfast for all of us
Enjoying the fruits of their labor...
What girls do for fun.... (toenail polish, of course)
What boys do for fun (competition, of course!)

How girls show love.....(pucker up, Caroline!)

How boys show love (yep, that's Creed on the bottom of Marshall!)
We had a fun filled day of cousins and friends when KK, Will, Marshall, and Caroline came to play. Too bad Caroline and Marshall (and Fletcher and parents) will be moving to Indiana soon (wah!!!!!). The girls went to the salon and were treated from the salon owner "Mel" (my alter-ego southern gossip-driven nail lady whom I portray everytime Rinny comes to the salon) and my counterpart "Bee", who was funny but not quite as Southern and interested in talking about life :) (KK is apparently a little more "normal" than her aunt).

Ponesy pants comes to play

Our baby cousin Jones came to visit and it was so great. He loves his "nunnu", creed, rinn, and "uncle."
Creed and Jonesy enjoying the beautiful weather and reading a book under the tree.
Right before this we cuddled up and he let me rock him and sing to him. He even let Creed cuddle him. Creed was in heaven because Rinny never cuddles. Creed just kept saying "Oh, Jonesy, this is SOOOOOO great."
Jonesy's funny faces.
Okay, so.....I just have to say that I am pretty sure Rinn is a genius. She drew this (completely unassisted I must say) and I looked over there and wah-la.....a PERSON! Complete with hair, eyes, mouth, ears. I have not taught her how to do that. I was just about to start "mat man" with her, which is how I taught Creed to draw self portraits at about age 4. I was SHOCKED when I saw her detail....okay, I 'll stop bragging now.
Creed's play dough creation. Pretty fantastic, too, I think.
Rinny was pretty proud of herself at her masterpiece.
